HUSTEF 2017 Conference Recap

Hi all, last month between 13-15 November I was at HUSTEF (Hungarian Software Testing Forum) Conference in Budapest. There were 24 speakers, 650+ attendees, 4 Keynotes and 4 tutorial sessions. I was also one of the presenters of HUSTEF 2017 and it was a pleasure to be on the stage at HUSTEF. In this article, I want to share with you my HUSTEF 2017 experience.

Thanks to Szilard Szell, Tibor Csöndes, Csilla Kohl, and LLOYD RODEN and HUSTEF TEAM for this amazing and awesome conference!

I arrived Budapest two days before the conference day and visited the city and I will share some photos of Budapest at the end of the article. ;) I just want to say that Budapest is very historical and cute city. I highly suggest you visit Budapest if you have never been there. ;)

On the first day, I attended David Evans‘s “Story Mapping for Testability – Slicing Epics into Testable Stories” tutorial session. It was very informative and also very practical. David Evans first explained the basics of the Agile Development, then Story Mapping and after that, he explained us the rules of BlackJack game and then three separate teams did story mapping of Online BlackJack Game. Here are some photos of this tutorial session.

In afternoon session, I attended Lloyd Roden’s “Testing Mobile Applications with Efficiency and Effectiveness” tutorial session. It was a very informative session too. Lloyd explained us mobile application testing:

  • Complexities and Challenges
  • Testing Techniques (Classification Trees & Pairwise Testing)
  • Exploratory Testing Charters
  • Mobile Testing Techniques and Heuristics
  • Mobile Testing Tools

And, I was ranked #5 in more than 100+ attendees in Mobile Testing Contest. I answered all question correctly but I was slightly slower than the #1. :)

And at the end of the first day, Petra Bouskova and Lloyd Roden gave some tactics on Presentation Skills.

In the evening all speakers are invited to special speakers dinner. Hungarian Cuisine was absolutely delicious! :)

On the second day, the conference started and I talked about “Visual Testing Tips & Challenges” to more than 300+ software testing professionals in the main hall.

There are two more Turkish speakers talked at the conference. They are Barış Sarialioğlu and Ceren Gebizli. Also, some of our important software testing professionals supported us. They are, Tuğçe Alphan, Sevgi Topbaş, and Ömürden Cengiz. Also, Siemens Turkey Test Team was there too.

On the third day, Ceren Gebizli, Noy Atias, and Barış Sarıalioğlu talked at the conference. Their sessions were very exciting and informative.

And Barış Sarıalioğlu also elected as one of the best presenters of the conference.

All evenings during the conference there were great activities such as wine tasting, concertpinball, powerpoint karaoke, and so many entertaining activities.

and finally lovely Budapest! :) Enjoy the photos of this beautiful city.

Thanks.
